Determining a kayak's age

Determining a kayak's age

You can tell the year a kayak hull was molded and for which model year from the last 4 digits of your serial number.  A Riot, Boreal, Cobra, etc. serial number is made up as follows:

QRQ (KD's manufacturer code), a five digit hull ID, a letter denoting month of manufacture, a number denoting year of manufacture, and two digits denoting model year/season.

A 2020 model boat molded in November of 2019 for the 2020 season for example would have a serial number with these digits QRQ_____K920.

You can find the serial number on the back right side of the kayak.
